Roslyn Hyde

As the daughter of an architect, Roslyn was destined to be a designer. However, along the way, she discovered that she never wants to feel limited and enjoys a lot of other activities as well. She is on a quest to figure out how to fit them all into one lifetime.

WHY DESIGN?
Early on Roslyn figured out that she wanted to fix things, to make things easier for people, and to ultimately, improve lives. Whether through an analog-style exhibit space, a story told on stage, or data visualizations, she believes design has the power to change the world!

EVERYTHING ELSE
Roslyn has designed and built a house, toured 900-year-old temples in Cambodia, dabbled in pottery, screen printing, wood turning, and sewing, has helped to manage the production of a coffee table that looks like a giant cassette, and ran a successful remodeling and construction company. Her biggest and most rewarding adventure yet has been raising her son.

Éva Ungvári

Éva has always enjoyed making things and watching them go through transformations. Her first love was baking. One of her favorite activities was baking letters and making words with them. It could be that that was her first experience with typography, right?

WHY DESIGN?
Éva became a designer in a roundabout way, at first studying marketing and working at Microsoft in different roles in Hungary and the U.S., and later found her way to a design school in Seattle. While there, she fully realized her love for colors, shapes, words, and visual balance. Éva enjoys making complicated things simple, finding the point of a message, making it visually interesting, easy to follow, and consistent (if there’s an asterisk on a page, there’s better be a footnote somewhere!)

EVERYTHING ELSE
She has had fun trying out many activities through the years. Éva has tried out dancing, pottery, abstract painting, mono-printing, and animation. She has run two half marathons and recently has gotten into cold plunging in the Puget Sound.
